The COVID-19 pandemic has been a major eye opener in helping us recognise the importance of mental health. We know that there is still a great deal of stigma surrounding mental health issues, including mental health in the workplace. We are also aware that many people are uncertain about how to recognise mental illness and respond to it.
At Harvest Technology plc we believe in cultivating a sense of mindful leadership and we embrace a culture of well-being through various initiatives which support a healthy work-life balance. Apart from encouraging open communication and an environment of inclusion, we have recently furthered our commitment to the well-being of our employees by training all of our managers and leaders in Mental Health First Aid at the Workplace.
The interactive and informative course educated our managers and leaders to recognise signs and symptoms of common mental health issues, provide non-judgemental support and reassurance and guide others to seek professional support. The training was provided by Richmond Foundation Malta which in turn has certified Harvest Technology plc as a ‘Mental Health First Aid Skilled Workplace’.
The Company remains committed to raising awareness on mental health issues, encouraging early intervention, increasing confidence in dealing with mental health situations, and reducing stigma around mental health in general. Our employees are our best asset and their well-being continues to be of utmost importance to us.
